Customer groups allow you to toggle shipping rates based on customer data, such as a logged in customer's tags, lifetime spend, or total orders placed.
Each rate is shown to all customers at checkout by default. To only show a rate to a specific group of customers, first add a new customer group and then select that customer group on the rate page.
Customer groups are available on our Pro Plan or higher.
Managing Customer Groups
Customer groups are managed on the settings tab and on individual rate pages. After you add a new customer group, it will appear as an option in the "Customer Group" section of each rate page.

Customer groups on each rate page:
Condition Values
Conditions for customer groups are separated into 2 topics: Customer Conditions and More Conditions.
Customer Conditions
All customer conditions, except for email, require a customer to be logged in during checkout.
More Conditions
These additional conditions are based on shipping address and cart info, and don't require a customer to be logged in.
Multiple Conditions
You can add multiple conditions to refine a customer group. For example, you can set a free shipping rate to only show at checkout when customers are tagged with "loyalty" and their cart total is over $100.
Syncing with Shopify
After you add a customer group, it will appear as a Delivery customization in Shopify Admin > Settings > Shipping and delivery.
If you deactivate or delete a customer group delivery customization from Shopify Admin, Advanced Shipping Rules will mark it as "inactive" or "deleted" and the customer group will no longer work.
(Note: if you make changes to customer groups in the app that aren't being reflected in Shopify Admin Settings, we've found that reloading the page helps since Shopify caches the data.)
